BIXOLON relies on LPR’s repair expertise in Germany
BIXOLON stands for mobile printing solutions that need to perform reliably in everyday operations. Through BIXOLON Europe GmbH, the focus is on mobile label and receipt printers that are used daily in one of Germany’s largest delivery networks. When these devices fail, a fast, reliable and wellstructured service process is essential.
This is where LPR provides support in Germany. In our Repair Centre in Neuss, we manage the repair process, operational handling and device replacement through a dedicated equipment pool. Over the past eight years, LPR has repaired more than 288,000 devices as part of this service setup.
The key factor is the combination of local proximity, transparency and short response times. Devices are delivered and collected daily, replacement units can be provided on the same day, and repairs are typically completed within 24 hours.

At BIXOLON, delivering an exceptional customer experience is just as important as providing reliable printing solutions, and our partnership with LPR helps us achieve that every day. Their efficient management of printer repairs, combined with clear and proactive communication, ensures our customers feel supported throughout the entire repair process.
By working closely together, LPR helps us streamline repairs while enabling BIXOLON to remain fully accountable to our customers. It’s this collaborative approach that allows us to resolve issues quickly, build trust, and provide the high standard of service our customers have come to expect.

Optimised processes
The requirement was clear from the beginning: restore mobile printers to operational readiness quickly, keep downtime to a minimum and ensure that the operational workload remains manageable for all parties involved. These devices are not a peripheral issue; they are a direct part of an active delivery and service process.
Since 2012, LPR has been handling exactly this task for BIXOLON Europe GmbH. Defective devices are delivered to us daily and handed back once processing has been completed. At the same time, we maintain a dedicated device pool to provide replacement units on the same day where required. Spare parts are also stored directly at our site, enabling short access times and further accelerating the repair process.
In addition, we create transparency throughout the process. Every order can be tracked at serial number level, and the current processing status can be viewed live via the client portal. As a result, the repair service does not become a blackbox process, but a clearly manageable and well-controlled setup.
Measurable results
The greatest value lies in market proximity and the speed of execution. Because repairs are carried out in Germany rather than routed over longer distances to more remote workshops, response times remain short and processes stay flexible.
This has a direct commercial impact: the customer needs to hold significantly fewer devices as reserve stock in the pool. This is one of the key levers in the partnership. Short distances and fast repairs not only reduce downtime, but also lower capital tied up in spare devices. As a result, total cost of ownership is reduced noticeably.
This advantage is particularly relevant during seasonal peaks. When volumes increase at short notice, what is needed is not a rigid process, but a model that can scale with demand. This flexibility creates stability in day-to-day operations. In addition, the high repair rate of more than 98% further strengthens the business case. Devices remain in operation for longer, replacement purchases are reduced and the overall lifecycle becomes more cost-effective.
Partnership on equal terms
Daily operational communication is managed via BIXOLON. In addition, monthly reviews are held with BIXOLON, LPR and the end customer. This ensures that processes do not remain static, but are developed jointly — closely aligned with day-to-day operations and evolving requirements.
The strength of this model is reflected in the duration of the partnership. BIXOLON and LPR have been working together since 2012. At EuroShop 2026 in Düsseldorf, the collaboration was extended for a further seven years. This was not a formality, but a clear sign of a setup that has proven itself over many years.
Beyond day-to-day operations, LPR also supports special requirements. In one project, around 13,000 devices for another customer were converted to a special specification under considerable time pressure. Projects like this show that the collaboration works not only in standard operations, but also when speed and flexibility are particularly important.
Another key element is the responsible handling of materials. Cardboard packaging is reused, defective components are sorted, and removed parts or devices that can no longer be used are returned to the recycling stream.

What makes this partnership so valuable
The collaboration between BIXOLON and LPR shows what becomes possible when repair is not treated in isolation, but as part of a well-functioning end-to-end process. Within this service setup, LPR has repaired more than 288,000 mobile printers over the past eight years, processing up to 400 devices per day during peak periods. The decisive factor is not only the technical repair itself, but the ability to actively secure device availability — with short turnaround times and high transparency across the entire process.
Perhaps the most important effect happens in the background — and carries significant commercial value. Because repairs are completed quickly and close to the market, the customer needs to hold significantly fewer reserve devices. This reduces operational effort, creates flexibility and lowers total cost of ownership.
Since 2012, this has developed into a robust partnership that works in day-today operations, holds up during peak periods and performs reliably even in special projects. This is what defines the partnership between BIXOLON and LPR: close to operational reality, well controlled in process and strong in execution.
